whenever i draw them, it's in either of these states:

1. alive! the guy at their right is their boyfriend! well. was.
they never officially broke up, just couldn't keep in touch after mathew died lmao.
i've shipped mathew with so many different ppl over the years, idk what's up with that???
(mathew is bisexual btw)

2. dead! the guy at their left is named "Samuel".
he's an old man and my only cis/straight character lol.
the two of them hate each other, but they're forced to cooperate for. plot reasons.

during their "dead" state, mathew has this hard-to-explain ability:
they can shift how their weight is applied to things.
which lets them do weird things! like restrain someone with a thumb, or float or stand on one leg.

it's hard to know for certain, but i'm fairly confident that these depict their alive state!

i'm 99.99% sure these absolute belong to their dead state.
mainly because i know some o' these were concept art for sprites.

it's either that or the fact they're wearing the work uniform.
